First Single is OUT
Here it is ~WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES~ the first single off “You’re Just A Place That I Know”, an album that tracks the story of my Ukrainian grandparents’ during WWII. This piece finds my Baba (grandmother) recollecting a distant life with her parents and sisters in their Carpathian village and the moment, at 16, when German soldiers kidnapped her, consigning her to forced labour a thousand kilometres away.
This isn’t exactly a “radio single”, but the various moods of this song set the tone for the album and introduce its recurring melodic theme, so I chose to lead with it.
Listen to it wherever you stream music or watch it in video form, masterfully captured by Tony Dean Smith & Jay Kamal. And as ever, please share, add to playlists and so forth– releasing music in 2024 is basically screaming into the void; your voices make that scream a little louder.
